Search Broward County Booking Reports
Broward County booking reports are managed by the Broward Sheriff's Office, the primary law enforcement agency for one of Florida's most populated counties. The BSO operates multiple jail facilities across the county and provides two different online search tools for public access to arrest and booking data. You can search by name and booking date to find records that include charges, mugshots, bail information, and facility location. Broward County processes thousands of bookings each month through its jail system in the Fort Lauderdale area.

The North Broward Bureau sits at 1550 NW 30th Avenue in Pompano Beach. The Paul Rein Detention Facility is at 2421 NW 16 Street, also in Pompano Beach. Broward County Arrest Search Tool
The BSO provides an online arrest search at apps.sheriff.org/arrestsearch. You can search by last name, first name, and booking date. Results show booking records, mugshots, charges, bail and bond information, custody details, court-related data, and release information. The search is name-based and free to use.
Here is the Broward County arrest search interface from the Sheriff's Office.
The arrest search covers a wide range of Broward County booking data. Each result can include multiple charges and associated bond amounts. You can see which facility holds the person and their current status. Juvenile records, medical and mental health data, expunged or sealed records, and personal identifiers are restricted from public view. Everything else is open for you to check.
Note: If you cannot find someone in the arrest search, try the booking blotter or call (800) 224-5937 for help.
Broward County Booking Blotter
The Broward County Booking Blotter is a second tool the BSO offers. It shows recent bookings in a list format. This is useful if you want to see who has been brought into the Broward County jail system over the past day or two without searching for a specific name.
The screenshot below shows the Broward County booking blotter.
The blotter lists each booking with the person's name, charges, and booking date. It gives a broad view of recent arrest activity across Broward County. Both the arrest search and the booking blotter pull from the same jail management system, so the data is consistent between the two tools.
Broward County Detention Facilities
The Broward Sheriff's Office runs one of the largest jail systems in Florida. The screenshot below shows the BSO main website.
The Department of Detention page on the BSO site provides details about each of the four facilities. The Main Jail Bureau in Fort Lauderdale serves as the primary intake and booking center. From there, inmates may be transferred to one of the Pompano Beach facilities depending on classification and bed space. The screenshot below shows the Department of Detention page.
Each facility generates booking reports that feed into the central database. Whether a person is held at the main jail or at one of the Pompano Beach locations, their booking record is searchable through both the arrest search and booking blotter tools.
Broward County Booking Records Law
Florida's public records law gives you the right to access Broward County booking reports. Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes states that providing access to public records is a duty of each agency. Booking reports, mugshots, and arrest logs all qualify as public records. You can request them in person, by mail, or through the online tools.
For formal requests, contact the Public Records Unit at (954) 831-8700. Mail requests go to the Records and Warrants Division at 2601 West Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. Under Florida Statute 901.43, for-profit websites cannot charge to remove Broward County booking photos. You can request removal in writing, and the site must comply within 10 days or face penalties of $1,000 to $5,000 per day.
Broward County Jail Booking Steps
When someone is arrested in Broward County, they are transported to the main jail in Fort Lauderdale for booking. The process includes recording personal information, taking a booking photo, and capturing fingerprints. Under Chapter 943, fingerprints and facial images must be electronically submitted to the FDLE for all felony and misdemeanor arrests.
Charges and bond amounts are entered into the system. The booking report then appears in both the arrest search and booking blotter tools. With the volume of arrests in Broward County, new bookings appear in the system continuously throughout the day and night. The jail operates around the clock, and booking records become available to the public shortly after the data is entered.
Cities in Broward County
Broward County has more than 30 cities and towns. Fort Lauderdale is the county seat. The BSO also provides contract law enforcement for several cities that do not have their own police department.
Other communities in Broward County include Weston, Coconut Creek, Margate, North Lauderdale, Oakland Park, Hallandale Beach, and Cooper City. All bookings flow through the BSO jail system regardless of which city police made the arrest.
