Sunrise Booking Reports Lookup
Sunrise booking reports go through the Broward Sheriff's Office. Sunrise is in the western part of Broward County with about 100,100 residents. The city has its own police department that handles law enforcement, but all jail bookings go to BSO facilities. When someone gets arrested in Sunrise, the booking takes place at one of the Broward County jail sites. BSO keeps these records and makes them searchable online through two free tools that anyone can use.
Sunrise Quick Facts
Sunrise Arrest Booking System
BSO runs four jail facilities that process bookings from Sunrise arrests. The Main Jail Bureau is at 555 SE 1st Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. The Joseph V. Conte Facility sits at 1351 NW 27th Avenue in Pompano Beach. The North Broward Bureau is at 1550 NW 30th Avenue in Pompano Beach. And the Paul Rein Detention Facility is at 2421 NW 16th Street, also in Pompano Beach. Any of these can handle the booking for a Sunrise arrest.
At the jail, the booking process starts. Staff fingerprint the person, take a booking photo, and enter all the charge information into the computer system. That creates the booking report. It includes the person's name, date of birth, charges, arrest date, and the bond amount once it gets set. The entire report becomes a public record under Florida law.

Sunrise does not have its own jail. Like most cities in Broward County, the sheriff handles the jail side of things. The city police make the arrests and the county processes the bookings. If you need a Sunrise booking report, you go through BSO rather than the city.
Search Sunrise Booking Records Online
BSO provides two online tools to search for booking records from Sunrise. Both are free and open to the public around the clock. You do not need an account or login to use them.
The Broward Arrest Search is a name-based search tool. Type in the last name, first name, or both, along with a booking date if you have one. The results show the holding facility, arrest number, charges, bail and bond details, custody status, court-related data, and release info. You can also view the booking photo. This is the most detailed tool BSO offers for finding Sunrise booking reports online.
The image above shows the BSO arrest search page where you can search for Sunrise booking records. If you have trouble finding someone, call BSO at (800) 224-5937 for help.
The Broward Booking Blotter takes a different approach. Instead of searching by name, it shows a running list of recent bookings from all of Broward County. Sunrise arrests show up here alongside bookings from Fort Lauderdale, Plantation, and every other city in the county. You can browse by date to see who was recently booked.
The booking blotter from bookingblotter.sheriff.org is shown above. It is a good way to check for recent Sunrise bookings without knowing a specific name.
Sunrise Records Under Florida Law
Booking reports from Sunrise are public records under Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes. The law says all state, county, and municipal records are open for personal inspection and copying. Anyone can request a Sunrise booking report. You do not need to show ID. You do not need to explain your reason. The agency must provide access at a reasonable time.
There are exceptions. Chapter 943 protects juvenile records unless the charge is at the felony level. Medical and mental health records from the booking are not public. Sealed or expunged records will not show up in any search, and BSO cannot confirm they existed. All other booking information from Sunrise arrests, including the name, charges, and booking photo, is open to the public.
Sunrise Arrest Booking Photos
A booking photo gets taken during the intake process at the BSO jail. Every person booked after a Sunrise arrest has one on file. The photo is public in most cases and may appear in the arrest search tool or the booking blotter online.
Florida Statute 901.43 addresses what happens when third-party websites post booking photos and try to charge for removal. The law makes it illegal for a for-profit website to accept payment to take down a booking photo. If you send a written request, the site has 10 days to remove it. The civil penalty is $1,000 per day for not complying. If the site takes the photo down and then puts it back, the penalty increases to $5,000 per day. This covers all Sunrise booking photos.
Note: Keep a copy of any written removal request you send in case you need to prove the date you asked for the photo to come down.
BSO Detention for Sunrise Bookings
The Broward Department of Detention runs all jail operations in the county. This is the department that actually processes Sunrise bookings, manages the facilities, and handles inmate services. Their website has details about visitor schedules, mail rules, and commissary for people held after Sunrise arrests.

State Records for Sunrise Cases
The Florida Department of Corrections runs a statewide inmate search for anyone serving time in a state prison. If someone from a Sunrise case was sentenced to state prison, their record appears here. The database refreshes weekly. It covers active inmates, releases, supervised populations, and fugitives.
For a full list of county jails across Florida, the Florida Department of State maintains a directory with links to each county's search tool. FDLE handles criminal history inquiries at 850-410-7000. They also run a sexual offender search that covers the Sunrise area.
