Where Miramar Bookings Are Processed

Miramar does not operate a city jail. Every person arrested in Miramar is transported to a Broward Sheriff's Office facility for booking. The BSO runs the county's jail system from its Main Jail Bureau at 555 SE 1st Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. Three additional facilities in Pompano Beach handle overflow and housing: the Joseph V. Conte Facility, the North Broward Bureau, and the Paul Rein Detention Facility.

The Miramar Police Department handles law enforcement within the city. When MPD officers make an arrest, they take the person to a BSO jail for booking and processing. The booking report gets created in the BSO system regardless of which agency made the arrest. So all Miramar arrest records end up in the same county database.

Search Miramar Booking Reports Online

BSO offers two free search tools. Both cover all of Broward County, so any Miramar booking will show up in the results.

The BSO Arrest Search is the primary tool. Enter a last name and first name, then pick a date range if you want. The results show the person's booking details including charges, arrest number, holding facility, bond amounts, and mugshot. The information also includes custody status and court-related data. This is the best way to find a specific person's booking report from Miramar.

The BSO Booking Blotter takes a different approach. It shows recent bookings in a running list format. You can scroll through to see who was booked across Broward County, including Miramar, over the past day or so. The blotter updates throughout the day and shows the name, charges, and booking date for each person. It is useful when you want to browse recent Miramar arrests rather than search for one name.

Note: Both tools exclude juvenile records, medical data, and sealed or expunged cases from search results.

Miramar Booking Reports Under Florida Law

Booking reports from Miramar arrests are public records. Florida Statute Chapter 119 guarantees that all state, county, and municipal records are open for inspection and copying by any person. You do not need to give a reason when you ask to see a booking report. The custodian of the records, in this case the BSO, must make them available at a reasonable time and under reasonable conditions.

Some booking data is restricted. Mental health and medical records from the jail stay are not public. Criminal history information about juveniles is confidential under Chapter 943 unless the juvenile was charged with a felony-level offense. Personal identifiers like Social Security numbers get redacted from public versions of booking reports. Sealed and expunged records do not appear in any search. Everything else in a Miramar booking report is available to the public.

Mugshots have extra protection under Florida Statute 901.43. No one can charge you to take down your booking photo. If a for-profit site refuses your written removal request, fines start at $1,000 per day after the 10-day deadline passes.

BSO Jail Facilities for Miramar

The BSO Department of Detention manages all four jail sites in Broward County. Someone booked from Miramar can end up at any of these locations based on available beds and the charges involved.

If you need to visit someone or send them mail, knowing the facility is the first step. Bond information also appears in the booking report once a judge sets bail. For general questions about an inmate booked from Miramar, the jail info line at (800) 224-5937 is the fastest way to get answers.

State Databases for Miramar Records

People sentenced to state prison after a Miramar arrest move into the Florida Department of Corrections system. The FDC Inmate Search covers all state inmates and updates every week. Release dates change nightly. Call (850) 488-9859 for help with the state system.

The FDLE Sexual Offender Search is a separate statewide database. Contact FDLE at (850) 410-7000 for criminal history questions. If you want to see the actual statute text, the Florida Statutes Online site has the full text of every law mentioned on this page.
