Access Tampa Booking Reports
Tampa booking reports are handled by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Tampa is the county seat of Hillsborough County, and the HCSO runs all jail operations in the area. There are no city jails in Hillsborough County, so every arrest in Tampa goes through the county system. The sheriff's office has an online arrest inquiry tool with records going back to January 1995. You can search by name, booking number, or date to find booking data for anyone processed through the Tampa jail system.
Tampa Quick Facts
Tampa Arrest Inquiry System
The HCSO Arrest Inquiry tool at webapps.hcso.tampa.fl.us/ArrestInquiry is the main way to look up Tampa booking reports. Online arrest inquiries cover adult arrests from January 1, 1995, to the present. The system pulls from the HCSO Jail Management System and is open to the public.
You can search by the inmate's name, booking number, booking date, or release date. Results show pending charges, bond amount, mugshot, and booking photo. There is also an option to limit your search to current inmates only. You can sort results by booking date or booking number. The database gets updated every 30 minutes, so the data stays current. After someone is released, their info remains on the site for another 90 days.
This is a free tool. No account or payment is needed. Just go to the site and enter what you know about the person you are looking for. The HCSO makes this data available because booking reports in Tampa are public records under Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes.
Tampa Booking Search Portal
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's arrest inquiry page at webapps.hcso.tampa.fl.us/ArrestInquiry is shown below. This is where you start your search for Tampa booking reports.
The search form lets you type in a name or use other fields to narrow your results. Each result links to a detail page with the full booking report. The system has data going back almost 30 years, which makes it one of the deeper online records tools in Florida. Most county systems only go back a few years or show current inmates.

Booking Photos and Tampa Arrest Records
Booking photos taken in Tampa are public records. They are part of the booking report. But Chapter 901 of the Florida Statutes has rules about how these photos can be used. Section 901.43 makes it illegal for any website to charge money to remove a booking photo. If you send a written request and the photo is not removed within 10 days, you can file a civil action. The penalty is $1,000 per day.
The HCSO arrest inquiry shows booking photos as part of the search results. This is allowed under the public records law. The Florida Department of Corrections also shows photos for state inmates. Both systems exist to give the public access to booking data in a way that follows the law.
